    Of course I trust many of my clients, but can you see the denizens of Fleet Street being as honest as some of the clients these guys describe.

    I would love to be able to build up my Fleet Street Work again for example, but it simply doesn’t work that way any more. I can’t trust them to pay me on time, or properly for the work they already have on file, without opening up my archives for potential wholesale pilfering.

    As to Magazines. Can we really trust Archant, IPC, Future? Some of the guys I work with are absolute bricks, but there are so many sharks out there.

    If I could rely on the honesty of clients, as I used to. If I had faith that newspapers would mark up my work and ask for invoices like they used to, then yes. But honestly, in today’s climate…
