Brave swimmers enjoy a chilly dip

For more and more people it is clearly the cool way to start Christmas Day, so cool, in fact, as to be positively freezing. Members of the Serpentine Swimming Club swim in the icy Serpentine waters during the annual Christmas Day Peter Pan Cup on December 25.
The traditional 100 yards Christmas race got its name in 1904 after Sir James Barrie presented the first Peter Pan Cup and is only open to club members who have competed in at least three of the winter series races

Swimmers braved the chilly weather to enjoy a festive dip in the Serpentine at Hyde Park.

Handsome Stag in icy Richmond Park

I think this handsome stag was very keen to have his picture taken this morning in Richmond Park!

Richmond Park, originally a deer-hunting park, still has 300 Red Deer and 350 fallow deer. The deer have played a major role in the Park’s history and have shaped the landscape too.

Snow and travel Caos in Europe

Europe is facing severe transport disruptions as the extreme cold sweeps across the continent.
Air, rail and road links have been severely disrupted across northern Europe and more snow is expected throughout the week. Having said that snow can be fun as well!
